The Healthy Queensland Awards are an annual state-wide competition to find Queensland’s healthiest community, Queensland’s healthiest school and Queensland’s healthiest workplace.
The Queensland Government, in partnership with Keep Australia Beautiful Queensland, invited all communities, schools and workplaces to enter the awards.
Regional award winners were announced in June 2009. The state award recipients were announced at a ceremony at Parliament House on Wednesday 26 August 2009.

Winners share a prize pool totalling $1 million for communities, $500,000 for schools and $100,000 for workplaces.
Prize money will go towards “healthy” infrastructure such as:
- walking and cycling paths
- basketball court
- shade structures
- sport and recreation equipment
- policies that make healthy choices the easy choices
- programs that promote health and wellbeing
